TALENTED youngsters said a sad farewell to their fellow performers at a theatre group.
Many of the Dynamo Youth Theatre (DYT) members had been at the group, based in Havant, since they were 11.
Their performance of Nil by Mouth earlier this month at The Spring was their last – which made it even more emotional.
The sixth-formers were presented with their much-coveted leavers’ certificates at the farewell meeting by chairman Richard Watts in front of an audience of parents, committee members and the rest of the group.
Adam Holding, Amy Larham, Catherine Searle, Kirsty Matthews, Claire Copeland, Jess Barnes, Callum Cairns, Zack Cuthbertson, Lizzie Brewster, Ellie Weaver and Matt Sturgess were reminded of the highlights of their time at Dynamo by Andrew Bowker, artistic director.
Mr Watts said: ‘The sixth form show is the pinnacle of membership, the last show a member will perform with us, so the shows are chosen for their ability to stretch the cast, bringing all of their hard-earned acting skills to the fore, the reward for staying the course and a lasting reminder of their time with us.’
Dynamo Youth Theatre is a workshop and performance-based drama group for young people aged 11 to 18 who meet in St Faith’s Church Hall, Havant.
Applications for membership are welcome from boys and girls from the local area. Go to hdyt.org.uk.
