CHILDREN from an Emsworth school have been taking part in a UK-wide cookery competition.
Youngsters from Glenwood School, which cares for children with moderate learning difficulties, made their own version of bread and butter pudding.
The Ready Berry Cook competition challenged children to cook a classic recipe using berries.
Food teacher Lesley Watton said: ‘It’s a good way of getting the children to think about adapting recipes and trying to make them something healthy and just trying to put a twist on classics.
‘It’s important to get back to basics of cooking from scratch. Children do need to be thinking about what they are eating.’
