PRIDE in Portsmouth is the theme of a student exhibition which forms part of celebrations in the run-up to National Civic Day.

The Portsmouth Society is inviting people who live in and love the city to enjoy a range of artworks from year seven schoolchildren at the Central Library in Guildhall Square until Saturday.

The work was submitted as part of the Schools Project, a competition which invited 11 and 12-year-olds to express what they like about Portsmouth through art, writing and digital media.

Competition winners will be announced during a ceremony at the library on National Civic Day, which falls on June 25.

The Portsmouth Society will have a stall at Cascades shopping centre this week to raise awareness of the work it does and encourage new members.

It will be opposite the Anne Harvey store between 11am and 2pm until Friday.
