A REPRESENTATIVE from the Skills Funding Agency has visited Fareham College to find out about their employment provision.

Jill Goddard is head of business delivery at the SFA.

She met current apprentices and employment partners and learnt about the college’s innovative Employment Hub and links with the Job Centre.

The college has seen an increase in the number of school leavers opting to take the apprenticeship route.

Jill said: ‘You get the reality of a real job with an apprenticeship.

‘You can find out what prospects are available to you while enhancing your skills set and gaining a qualification in a supported environment.

‘The college is doing a great job of focusing on these essential skills which can be tailored to meet individual requirements.

‘The Employment Hub is a fantastic resource which is both professional and user friendly. I really love that students can access the bespoke job-search programme from home and at college.’
