A SPECIAL secondary school in Stubbington that ‘enables students to make good progress in their personal as well as academic development’ has been awarded a good Ofsted grade.

Baycroft was applauded for headteacher Chris Toner’s strong leadership and the commitment of her staff – and complimented on its strong performance in art and ICT.

Inspector Sarah Mascall said: ‘Good teaching enables students to achieve well and students benefit from an effective curriculum that is adapted well to meet the needs of individuals.

‘Teachers are knowledgeable about the levels students are working at and most use this information well to ensure work in lessons is matched to the needs of individuals.

‘Students’ enjoyment of school is reflected in the excellent attendance that they have maintained over the last three years.’
