Each team had five minutes on stage to perform with different themes such as zodiac, mystical and one group even based their performance on popular television show The Only Way is Essex.

Hairdressing lecturer at the college Kirstie Pearson said: ‘It’s a hair and beauty competition and a show-case as well.

‘They have a team and they encompass the hair, make-up and costumes.

‘It allows the students to use their creativity. It lets them work outside of the box.

‘It’s brilliant for their creativity.

‘They always blow my mind with what they create. Every year the standard gets higher.

‘It was phenomenal. Everyone enjoyed it – staff and students. It was a full house.

‘We had people outside trying to get in but there weren’t enough seats. It was very popular.’
