THE Mayor of Fareham and his guests got to enjoy some fine dining courtesy of catering students at Fareham College.

Councillor Dennis Steadman hosted the civic luncheon at Chequers, the college’s restaurant, after becoming impressed by the students during his regular visits there.

The meal was prepared and served by students on the catering and hospitality courses.

He said: ‘The setting was really attractive and wonderfully comfortable – the staff were absolutely delightful, happy, smiling, whilst providing a first-class service with courtesy unbounded.’

Jade Gale, a student on the level 3 hospitality and supervision course, said: ‘I feel honoured.’
