A NURSERY and holiday childcare club where ‘staff know each child as an individual’ has been awarded the highest possible Ofsted grade.

Woodcroft pre-school and wrap around care based in Woodcroft Primary, Waterlooville, was judged to be ‘ouststanding’ in every single category following an inspection in July.

Inspector Gill Walley praised fun activities, well-behaved children, celebrations of cultural festivals and healthy snacking in her positive report.

It read: ‘Children achieve very well in all areas of learning because activities are well-planned and exciting.

‘Children behave extremely well and are kind, thoughtful and considerate towards one another.

‘Children of all ages play together so that they make strong friendships and gain more confidence.

‘Staff speak positively to children and have excellent relationships with them. They know each child as an individual.’

Woodcroft has 65 children up to the age of five on roll.
