Despite achieving a slightly lower pass rate to last year, pupils at Cowplain Community School still came away with a 62 per cent A*-C pass rate.

With many students getting higher marks than they expected, everyone appeared to be pleased with their results.

Headteacher Ian Gates said that the students can leave the school holding their heads high.

He said; ‘We are encouraged by how well everyone did and they can all be proud of themselves.

‘This is the first step in the direction they want to go.

‘I have to give credit to the staff for all the hard work and all the extra hours they put in.’
