STUDENTS at the City of Portsmouth Girls School were celebrating top results this year.

The school has seen a jump in the number of girls getting the gold standard.

Olivia Childs, 16, from Winton Road, got three A*s, seven As and a B.

She said: ‘I was a bit nervous this morning. I think I have done really well. It was stressful.

‘I have really enjoyed it here. I am excited to go to college now.’

Olivia will go to South Downs College to study English literature, English language, film and philosophy.
