MEMBERS of Portsmouth Youth Parliament visited a city school to talk about introducing a transport card for students.

Peter Marcus and Sophie Dearing visited Portsmouth High School to canvas the girls’ opinions on transport concerns across the city and to talk about the introduction of an All in One card for 11-16 years at school in Portsmouth.

The card would not only reduce transport costs across the city but could also be used as a proof of age card and will attract discounts in cinemas, sporting venues and retail outlets.

Peter said: ‘The girls were extremely positive, informative and knew what they were talking about.

‘We hope to address some of the concerns shortly.’

Portsmouth Youth Parliament plan to address some of the concerns directly with the bus and train companies.

They will take their idea of an All in One Card to Portsmouth City Council after further discussions with young people across the city. It’s hoped the card will be introduced in September 2014.
