A PRE-SCHOOL that celebrates youngsters’ different backgrounds has been awarded a ‘good’ Ofsted report.
Milton Park pre-school, based at the federated Milton Park Primary in Eastney, was judged ‘good’ in every single category.
Inspector Eira Gill praised children being given an opportunity to speak their home languages, the celebration of religious festivals and excellent resources like dressing up clothes and dolls to promote ethnic diversity.
She added: ‘Children from all backgrounds achieve well in all areas of learning because activities are well-planned and organised.
‘All children show a strong sense of security and belonging, are happy and settled and are fully included in all activities.
‘Children form very positive relationships with each other and the adults and these ensure their well-being, self-esteem and learning and development.
‘A range of interesting activities is planned to ensure than children make good progress.’
The pre-school, which has been given a good capacity to improve, currently has 63 children on roll, and shares Milton Park Primary’s hall, playground and toilets.
