A GROUP of students spent two years designing and building a bench in their school grounds.

The youngsters were part of a sculpture design club at Bay House School in Gosport.

They embarked on the design process, before deciding on the theme of a leaf.

Helen Roberts is a freelance sculptor and used to work at the school as a technology teacher.

She said: ‘They’ve achieved a fantastically professional outcome.

‘It’s something that lots of children at their school have enjoyed.

‘It’s had lots of feedback from staff and students and they are proud.

‘It was a fantastic experience for them.’
