A graduate is reminding students to get their applications in if they want to go to university this year.

Stubbington graduate Lee McMahon is letting students know that the main university application deadline is Sunday, January 15.

Over the past few months, Lee has been visiting schools and sixth-form colleges to tell students about how the new student finance system works and what university life is like.

The Southampton Solent comedy, writing and performance graduate said: ‘Going to university not only gave me independence but also the ability to go out and get a good job by raising my aspirations.

‘It has shaped me into an ambitious, confident and independent individual, and you can’t put a price on that.

‘I advise all students to look into what they are entitled to as it may be more than they think.’
