PLANS for millions of pounds of investment in children’s services have been approved by Hampshire County Council.

The council has approved a budget which will see £256m invested in the next three years in children and young people.

This includes £3m for the new Gosport Skills Centre, a centre for engineering skills training which is to be built at the former Daedalus airfield in Lee-on-the-Solent.

The council will also spend £165m creating 8,000 new school places.
