GENEROUS children donated huge piles of clothing to help youngsters thousands of miles away.

Volunteers from the Havant and Waterlooville Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline (CCLL) visited Warblington Pre-School, in Havant, to pick up clothes they had collected over several months.

The clothes will be given to a group of children from Chernobyl, in Belarus, which suffered the effects of the world’s biggest nuclear disaster.

A generation on, the children are still suffering health defects because of it but the CCLL gives them a month’s holiday on the south coast.

During that time they are given full health checks and clothes to take back home.
