PARENTS of children at a Hayling infants school held a fundraising event.

Almost £3,000 was raised when parents, grandparents and staff sold cakes and other items as the Friends of Mill Rythe Infants School held their annual summer fete to raise funds to buy school equipment.

The event also saw the unveiling of the school gazebo by headteacher Sarah Court.

It will be used as an outdoor classroom.

Mrs Court said: ‘The fete was a great success and has been really well supported by the local community.

‘The money raised will be used to purchase some additional resources and equipment for all our children.

‘I would like to thank our staff, parents, carers and local businesses as well as the local community for all their support in helping to make our fete such a great success.’
