STUDENTS from a Fareham school rocked their way into third place at the regional Rock Challenge UK.

The Be Your Best Foundation’s Global Rock Challenge was held at Southampton Guildhall and saw nine schools compete in performing arts.

Awards were given to students for set design, costume, make-up design and stage crew.

The winning team was from Richard Taunton Sixth Form College, Southampton, with The Wellington Academy, Ludgershall, taking second place.

Coming third, the Henry Cort team performed a piece entitled Once Upon a Trouble, which told the story of Little Red who was charged with trespassing and Hansel and Gretel, who stole food.

Year 11 students Amaya Osborne, Kayleigh Sibley and Paige Sibley said they had a great day.

Paige said: ‘The whole experience was entertaining from start to finish.’

Principal Phil Munday said: ‘This event has proved itself to be highly rewarding.’
