EVERYDAY heroes who make our world a safer and better place were honoured by schoolchildren.
Pupils at Mill Rythe Infants School, in Hayling Island, dressed up as doctors, soldiers, firemen, and nurses yesterday for National Heroes’ Day which raises money for the military charity Help for Heroes.
Even headteacher Sarah Court took part, dressing as a soldier.
She said: ‘My husband was in the army and the military has always been close to my heart.
‘We have really taken on board the Olympic values this year and brought those values together with the children’s learning.
‘So we’ve had lots of sports stars at school today, including Paralympians.’
