A RESTAURANT used by catering students to train has joined a scheme which supports local produce.

Highbury College’s Chimes restaurant is now a member of Hampshire Fare, thanks to EU funding to pursue a local food project.

Chimes is changing a number of suppliers so that local producers and wholesalers will be used wherever possible, including Southsea’s All About Tea.

The college says the move saves money and helps the environment as it is cutting down the food miles from farm to fork.
