CHILDREN at a nursery had the chance to learn more about creepy crawlies.

Kiddi Caru’s Whiteley day nursery played host to people from Zoolab, an animal handling workshop.

The team worked with the children using creatures such as spiders, a snail, a cockroach and a millipede to educate youngsters about the world of insects.

Nursery manager Lisa MacLennan, said: ‘While the children were having a great time learning all about these amazing creatures I have to admit I was keeping my distance.

‘They thought it was wonderful though and were absolutely fascinated with the tarantula.’
