A STUDENT from the University of Portsmouth who is on a placement year with a Scottish IT company has been selected to be the first point of contact for IT for Team England during the Commonwealth Games.

Euan Morton is undertaking a professional placement year with NVT Group in Bellshill, Lanarkshire as part of his BEng Computer Engineering studies.

This role means that he is the embedded Team England IT resource.

Euan is providing front-line IT support to the team –athletes, officials and support staff. He is based at the athletes village.

Euan, 22, said: ‘This is a very exciting opportunity and I feel honoured to have been chosen as the primary IT contact for Team England.

‘The experience I will have gained from the Commonwealth Games as well as the rest of my time here at NVT will be invaluable to getting a job after I graduate.’
