ROCK STARS in the making injected a bit of the wow factor into their Christmas concert with a range of popular tunes and Yuletide jingles.

Forty seven to 11-year-olds at Northern Parade Juniors in Hilsea delighted a hall filled with staff, pupils and parents with songs including Jessie J’s Price Tag, Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door and Wizzard’s I Wish It Could be Christmas Every Day.

The musical boys and girls, who are coached by Rocksteady Music School, had been practising hard all year for the special event.

Mark Robinson, Rocksteady’s director, said: ‘I am so proud of the kids.

‘For them to be getting on stage and playing in a band is a really big achievement.’

Liz Davies, assistant head, said: ‘The children were fantastic and there were great comments from the audience.

‘We’ve only been working with Rocksteady for a few years but in that time the children have made excellent progress and they’ve really enjoyed themselves.’
