Kids join the Dragon Quest
Children have been immersed into the world of myths and legends. CHRIS BROOM has been discovering more about Egyptian gods and Chinese dragons.
Youngsters have had the chance to delve into another world at a museum over the summer.
Westbury Manor Museum in Fareham has been inviting children to take part in its dragon quest, while they look into the exciting world of myths and legends.
They can explore these captivating stories by climbing into the head of a dragon and entering the mysterious cave, or by visiting an Egyptian tomb and unravelling the story of the god Osiris.
After that they can test their skill on the special trail, make a Chinese dragon or a character from legend or try the wordsearches, quizzes and colouring sheets.
Ella Jacques-Stevens, nine, said: 'I like coming here because it's really fun, and it's easy for me to get here.'
Her mum Fiona of Hartlands Road, Fareham, said: 'We have come to a few of these things before and they are a lot of fun for the kids.
'We like to come quite regularly as it's very local for us and they're always good.
'The children enjoy them and they learn something from them as well.'
Cheryl Glee dropped by with her four-year-old son Teddy Streeter during a visit to the town centre.
Miss Glee, of Sartoris Close, Warsash, said: 'I just saw the poster outside and sometimes we do pop in here because it's nice for him, and it's something that makes a change for him when I've come in for a bit of shopping.'
Entry is free and the event continues until Saturday – just drop in. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the dragon quest.
