A THEATRE company put on a mystery tour to encourage young people to create their own stories.

Soop theatre hosted the tour around Fareham library last Saturday. Two of the theatre’s actors played detectives to help the children solve clues hidden throughout the library.

The event aimed to get children under 11 used to the library.

Soop creative director Nathan Chapman, 35, from Havant, said: ‘It is important with children and young people not just to read, but to create stories and get excited about the whole process.’

The events are part of the library’s summer reading scheme, Creepy House. The next is on Wednesday, August 28 at 10am until midday.
