South Downs College has announced a new partnership with top chef Angela Hartnett.

The college has joined forces with the Michelin-starred restaurateur to establish The Angela Hartnett Culinary Academy.

Studied over a year, the academy’s Level 3 programme combines masterclasses from Angela and her team with practical and theoretical workshops, industry visits and the opportunity of high-profile work experience.

Angela, who has a restaurant in the New Forest, said: ‘The programme will engage students with real-life restaurant practices and give them the opportunity to excel in our industry.’

Students hoping to gain a place on the programme will have had to complete a Level 2 catering qualification to at least merit grade, before undertaking a series of skills tasks and interviews.
