THE University of Portsmouth has announced the appointment of a new director of estates and campus services.

Fiona Bell will join the university in August. She held a senior role at the University of St Andrews as director of estates.

And she was also director of estates and facilities management for National Museums Scotland, where she was involved with a £47m redevelopment and refurbishment of The Royal Museum.

She said: ‘This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of a dynamic university and to lead a team in the development of a masterplan for the entire campus.

‘Everything I’ve heard about Portsmouth points to a vibrant, energetic city which is reflected in its university and I’m very much looking forward to living and working here.’
