ACTORS are invited to audition for Shakespeare outdoor performances as part of the first-ever Petersfield Shakespeare Festival this July.

The new venture in the grounds of Bedales School is aimed at providing entertainment for the local community by the local community – and the opening festival will feature productions of Much Ado About Nothing and Twelfth Night.

Jay Green, the school’s head of drama and festival organiser, said: ‘This is an opportunity for actors to perform open-air theatre in a glorious country setting. We are hoping this will be an annual fixture, growing every year in scope and ambition.’

The festival provides an opportunity for actors to work with directors including David Jackson whose work has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe and the National Theatre.

Auditions will take place on February 17 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm and February 18 from 10am to 1pm at the Olivier Theatre, Bedales School.
