SARAH Court has abandoned a jet-setting career to take on her first headship at Mill Rythe Infants in Hayling Island.
The 40-year-old says she is thrilled to have been appointed head of a school with good teaching and bright, well-behaved pupils.
Mrs Court, who was brought up in Horndean, has spent the last 10 years working with British Forces teachers and children in primary schools all over the world including Germany, Cyprus and Gibraltar.
She said: ‘It was quite tiring but great fun – my job involved everything from supporting teachers and school leaders to designing curriculums.
‘I’m really glad to be back by the sea, and everyone at Mill Rythe has been so welcoming and enthusiastic.
‘Educating young people is my passion and I think I’ve found the right school to do it in.’
She added: ‘There are so many great things happening at the school. I’m keen to build on the many positive aspects such as forging strong links with the community.
‘But the quality of learning and teaching will always be my priority.’
