YOUNGSTERS have been given a boost to their reading.

Brune Park Community School’s information centre and library was officially opened with an event called ‘A Celebration of Reading – Live, Breathe, Read….Succeed’.

The event was attended by Pompey player Jack Whatmough and Blues legend Alan Knight.

Colin Farmery, Portsmouth Football Club’s PR consultant said: ‘Reading is something to be encouraged and we are sure this new facility at Brune Park will help do that.

‘As a community club, education is high on our list of priorities. We take the education of our own young players very seriously and it is always a pleasure to have the club represented at events such as this.’
