THE University of Portsmouth has appointed a new academic registrar.

Stephen Wiggins is currently faculty registrar for engineering and physical sciences at the University of Surrey, and will join in January.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Galbraith, said: ‘Stephen has an excellent track record in higher education, and I am very much looking forward to his expertise providing significant support to the development of the university.’

Stephen previously worked at the university as school manager from 2007 to 2010 for the School of Health Sciences and Social Work.

He said: ‘I am really looking forward to rejoining such an ambitious and progressive institution. Portsmouth is a diverse and interesting place and I’m excited about getting to know the city and the university once again.’
