TALENTED dancers as young as three enjoyed an early taste of West End stardom as they performed on stage in Southsea.

The exciting occasion showcased 200 members of the Timestep School of Dance – and they did not disappoint their Kings Theatre audience with a range of styles from ballet to hip hop.

One of the performers was Jacob Smith, three, of Oracle Drive, Waterlooville, who has been attending modern and tap classes held at the Wymering Methodist Church since October.

He said: ‘At first I was a bit scared but when I got on stage to dance to the music of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I really enjoyed myself.

‘After I danced I sat in the audience and watched the older dancers do ballet and they were amazing. I’d like to learn that next.’
