OLYMPIC fever will hit the city as the Guildhall Square is transformed into a mini sporting arena.

A pool, treadmills and stationary bikes will be pitched up in front of a big screen so residents can take part in triathlon action as they watch some of Britain’s best doing the same in Hyde Park, London, as they race to qualify in the London Games.

The triathlon event will take place at 10.30am on August 6 and 7, and everyone is invited to attempt to complete the triathlon.

Great Britain’s Jodie Stimpson, 22, will be racing in the women’s elite race on the Saturday giving fans the chance to cheer on home-grown talent.

Stimpson said: ‘Triathlon is a fantastic sport to watch, so I am excited that people have the opportunity to experience it live!

‘Hopefully lots of people will turn out to cheer me and the other British athletes on as we try to qualify for the Olympics.’
