CHILDREN from a Portsmouth school were delighted to meet two of Snow White’s dwarfs at a surprise assembly.

Max Laird, who plays Colonel, and Karen Anderson, who plays Growler in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at the Kings Theatre panto stopped by Arundel Court School to announce the winners of a Christmas card competition.

The pupils had created Christmas cards for a competition run by the Salvation Army’s Good Neighbours scheme.

The scheme provides volunteers who visit socially-isolated older people.

There were hundreds of designs to chose from but Strictly Come Dancing star and Snow White evil queen Lisa Riley had already picked out the overall winner, which Max and Karen read out in assembly.

The winning design will be printed and delivered to over 180 older people.

· Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is at the King’s Theatre, Southsea, until Sunday, January 6.
