PARENTS are stepping up their bid to stop cuts being made to children’s services in Portsmouth.

A petition containing around 1,000 signatures of people against the changes will be presented at the council’s full meeting at 2pm on Tuesday. A protest will be held beforehand. The council wants to axe 21 jobs in an effort to save money and fund more free nursery places for two-year-olds.
