HISTORIC buildings in Emsworth were brought to life on paper by arty schoolchildren.

Pupils from St James’ Primary drew sketches of their favourite architecture.

Among the drawings were Slipper Mill, St James’ Church and some of the local pubs.

The children’s efforts were for a competition organised by Springfield Care Home, in Havant Road, Emsworth.

Matthew Bennett, one of the owners of Springfield Care Homes, said: ‘The standard of the children’s drawings was outstanding. It was clear to see how much time and effort they had all spent.

‘The residents of Springfield enjoyed the pictures and voted on their favourites. In truth they all deserved a prize!’
