Plans to build a new temporary primary school in Whiteley have been given planning permission.

Councillors on the Regulatory Committee at Hampshire County Council gave the go ahead for a 210 place school off Lady Betty’s Drive.

Many parents have been campaigning for years for a new school.

With 50 children on average oversubscribed to Whiteley Primary School every year, parents have been forced to take their children to schools miles away.
