PLANS have been submitted for the £20m redevelopment of a secondary school.

Hampshire County Council has put forward detailed designs for the revamp of Park Community School in Middle Park Way, Leigh Park.

The plans are now being considered by Havant Borough Council, the planning authority, and will be out for public consultation until March 19.

The project, if approved, will see 70 per cent of the existing buildings redeveloped.

There would be a new three-storey teaching block, along with sports and community facilities for 900 pupils.

The scheme would include rooms for the performing arts as well as new music rooms, a media suite and special education needs teaching areas.

There will also be refurbished science and technology classrooms.

In addition, the design includes a new outdoor play area, discovery centre library and dining hall with café.

A final decision is expected to be made by April.
