A LARGE ship with its own cabin, a gang plank with shark-infested waters and a hobbit house are just a few of the exciting features of this new playground.

Youngsters at Portsmouth Grammar Juniors are embarking on mini adventures as they explore the facility which they designed with the help of staff and parents.

Peter Hopkinson, junior head, thanked the Junior School Association for funding the project.

He added: ‘I am delighted with the new play area as it will provide a stimulating environment for our children to play in.

‘It also features an outdoor classroom – but most of all the area is designed for our children to have fun.

‘I have already been made to walk the plank and jump into the shark infested waters and Mr Priory, our senior school head, has already proved adults can fit inside the hobbit house.’
