CHILDREN at Denmead Juniors in Waterlooville have been learning about Mexico with the help of a visiting teacher.

The youngsters have enjoyed lessons with Claudia Sahagun, who has told them all about her life in Mexico and encouraged them to exchange thoughts on her experiences as well as their own.

This visit is part of a British Council-funded scheme to develop children’s thinking and questioning skills.

Headteacher Eleanor Beale said: ‘We were so pleased that Claudia was able to spend a week in our school and look forward to continuing our links with her in the future.

‘The Mexico Link is an ideal way of encouraging our children to understand and learn more about life in Mexico whilst developing an exchange of thoughts.’
