YOUNGSTERS sang their hearts out for their chance to be in a new pop single.

Year two pupils at Meon Infant School, Milton, recorded their efforts before sending the track to judges of Voices Around The World.

They sang a new song written by 80s popstar Howard Jones, called Building Our Own Future, and if selected the children will feature on the single when it is released in December.

The project asks young choirs and vocal groups across the world to submit recordings of the song, linking the groups through their entries.

Sandra Lipscomb, year two teacher and international coordinator at the school, said: ‘The children enjoyed the whole experience.

‘They loved the song and put so much hard work into rehearsing, they were even singing it at home.

‘Hopefully we get selected, we’ll just have to wait and see.’
