A PRIMARY school enjoyed its first-ever summer fair with a touch of celebrity as Pompey legend Linvoy Primus opened the day.

Youngsters and their parents at Victory Primary in Paulsgrove – the amalgamation of Westfield Juniors and Saxon Shore Infants – spent the afternoon with the footballing hero. They also enjoyed everything a fair has to offer including cakes, raffles, music, dance and games.

Donna Findlay, who helped event organiser Jill Newton, said: ‘It was a hugely successful day and the children and parents loved the fact that Linvoy was there to celebrate the occasion with them.

‘The event was a consolidation of a brilliant first year we’ve had as Victory Primary.’
