STUDENTS spent 16 days at a summer camp in China.

The girls from Portsmouth High School spent time at a school in Changzhou in eastern China. They went from Beijing to Changzhou and took part in the summer camp opening ceremony.

Trip leader Susie Humphreys said: ‘It was a wonderful trip.

‘The girls absorbed the Chinese culture and had so many new experiences.

‘Highlights of the trip included sightseeing in Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall and meeting and getting to know so many new people taking part in the summer camp.

‘It was an experience we will treasure for many years to come.’
