A STUDENT from a Portsmouth school will sing in front of the Queen tomorrow.

Mayville High School pupil Alice Milburn, who beat more than 1,000 young hopefuls to become part of a five-girl band to release the official Poppy Day single, will sing at The Festival of Remembrance.

She said: ‘I’m really excited, going from school back to the studios and back to school again, it’s all very different.

‘When I’m in Spanish classes I’m daydreaming about being in the studio.

‘I will be really nervous but having so much homework really keeps my feet on the ground.’

She’ll also perform in Trafalgar Square on Monday.
