Those taking part ranged from Year 7 to Year 10 with Year 11 students helping backstage.

Drama teacher Emma Boniface said: ‘It’s been brilliant. It’s been a fantastic experience.

‘The girls have put in so much hard work. I’m quite a hard taskmaster as a teacher but they have risen to the occasion and made a fabulous production.’

And Ms Boniface said there are numerous advantages to the girls taking part in stage productions.

‘Drama is a fantastic opportunity to work on confidence and to be able to work together. We work on commitment and team building.

‘It’s a great way to get to know other girls from other years.

‘They have absolutely loved it. There have been ups and downs but the smiles on their faces after the first performance were just brilliant.

‘The reaction has been really positive.’
