AN ENTERTAINMENT stage, sports competitions, a barbecue, inflatables and much more will be on offer at a summer fete organised by students for the whole community to enjoy.

The University of Portsmouth Student Union’s volunteering team are behind the fun-packed event next Saturday – May 28 – in Ravelin Park, which runs from 11am until 4pm.

All proceeds on the day will be donated to The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust.

Emma Worby, vice-chairman of Volunteering in Portsmouth, urged as many people as possible to join them.

She said: ‘This is our way of reaching out to the community and showing them what we’re all about. It should be a fantastic family day out and also a good opportunity to support a worthy cause.

‘We’re hoping for a good turnout.’
