AN AFTER-SCHOOL club in Gosport has been awarded a good Ofsted inspection after the report found the children were well supported by staff.

Leesland After-School Club, based at Leesland Juniors where it has access to an IT suite, an outdoor playground and the school field, was commended for offering a broad range of activities.

Inspector Eira Gill said: ‘All children show a strong sense of security and belonging.

‘Children make good progress and achieve well, including those who find learning difficult, because they are well supported.

‘The youngest children form positive relationships with the adults as well as with a few of the older children.

‘These relationships ensure the children’s wellbeing, self-esteem, learning and development.’

She added: ‘There is a broad range of interesting activities that are well planned and organised to ensure children in all age groups make good progress.’

The club. run by Woodpeckers Childcare Ltd, has 30 three to eight-year-olds on its roll.
