YOUNG musicians from the Swanmore and Wickham area are being invited to get creative in a new project.

The Trailblazer Music Project has been set up after Winchester City Council commissioned SoCo Music Project and Winnall Rock School to get the district’s young people making music out of school.

Cllr Robert Humby, who is in charge of economic development matters, said: ‘We have so many talented individuals out there.

‘Not only will this work give people an opportunity to try out new music-making techniques, but it will give them an insight into the possible careers ahead of them within the industry.”

Taster sessions are being held across the district with one for children aged 10 to 18 at Swanmore College of Technology on June 25 from 11am to 1pm.
