YOUNGSTERS enjoyed a day looking at helicopters and engines as part of a visit to a Royal Navy base.
HMS Sultan, in Gosport, welcomed a group of pupils from Gomer Junior School.
The school has pupils from armed forces families, and has started a services club for pupils whose parents are in the military.
Teacher Lynn O’Brien said: ‘We started the services club about a year ago, using a premium we receive towards the welfare of each student from a service family.’
The visit to HMS Sultan was the first trip the services club had taken.
Aaron Middleton, 10, whose father works within the Royal Navy Medical Branch, said: ‘I liked learning about the helicopters and submarines.’
