Pupils get arty after Royal Navy inspiration

CHILDREN’S naval-inspired artwork will be celebrated in Leigh Park tomorrow.

The Sea Life Roadshow has seen the National Museum of the Royal Navy (NMRN) and HMS Victory team up with HMS Warrior 1860, the Mary Rose Trust, Action Stations and the Royal Navy Submarine Museum, to give local residents a taste of the culture that is on their doorsteps.

Children from Sharps Copse Primary School and Trosnant Junior School in Leigh Park have been making art inspired by the National Museum of the Royal Navy’s collections as part of the HMS – Hear My Story project.

The project will become a major exhibition opening next year, telling the undiscovered stories from the people who have made the Royal Navy‘s history over the last century.

The work will be on display at St Francis Church in Leigh Park from 11am until 3pm.
